Artist Statement
" I draw upon everyday observations as subject matter for my artwork. My paintings are a reflection of where I’ve been and what I’ve seen. The act of painting is a way for me to appreciate and analyze my surroundings by exposing subtleties which transform the commonplace into the extraordinary.
I am captivated by patterns of light and shadow and enjoy exploration of colour, texture and perspective. In addition to these elements, I use the physical qualities of the paint and canvas to create a representation of my surroundings."
